The building at Leidseplein 36 / 36 RD in Haarlem is being preserved to energy label A / A+. This includes full insulation of the exterior envelope, including the first floor on the underside, the exterior walls, the attic floor and the roof of the temporary rear extension.
In addition, the roof of the extension and all other flat roofs will have a retention roof with sedum plantings, contributing to water collection and greening. In addition to preservation, overdue maintenance is also being addressed, with some of the wooden joists on the first floor being replaced or repaired. A thorough inspection of the crawl space is necessary and its natural ventilation restored.
Finally, the attic space will be transformed into a team room, library and office space, making the building not only more sustainable, but also more functional.
