The building at Herenmarkt 10-12 in Amsterdam, originally built in 1905 as the Bank van Lening, is undergoing a preservation project commissioned by the City of Amsterdam, Gemeentelijk Vastgoed. This national monument, designed by Willem Hamer, currently houses offices and a daycare center.
The preservation is aimed at achieving at least energy label A, in accordance with the requirements for office buildings in 2030. Although the building will be made more energy efficient, its use will remain unchanged, preserving its historic character while preparing it for a sustainable future.
